Joseph Arthur è un musicista statunitense decisamente poco noto da noi, ma scoperto e lanciato da Peter Gabriel a cavallo tra il 1996 e il 1997.
In 15 anni di attività ha pubblicato una decina di dischi e ha creato legami con i R.E.M. nonchè formato con Dhani Harrison e Ben Harper il gruppo Fistful of Mercy che ha realizzato l’album As I Call You Down nel 2010.
Il disco The Ballad of Boogie Christ, pubblicato nel 2013, contiene il brano It’s Ok to Be Young/Gone.
