I Green Day sono un gruppo pop punk statunitense guidato dal cantante e chitarrista Billie Joe Armstrong. Insieme con gli Offspring, sono la band che ha rilanciato il punk rock negli anni 90.
Il gruppo si è formato a Berkeley nel 1987, con il nome Sweet Children, ma è nel 1994, grazie al successo del terzo album Dookie, che acquisisce successo e fama internazionale.
Da Dookie è tratto uno dei loro brani simbolo, Basket Case, il cui video è stato girato in un istituto mentale e rimanda volutamente al film Qualcuno volò sul nido del cuculo.
Filmato in bianco e nero, è stato colorato in post produzione.
