Charles Bradley (classe 1948) è un cantante americano funk/soul/R&B noto per le sue interpretazioni in stile James Brown, artista al quale si è decisamente ispirato da quando vide una sua esibizione al famoso Apollo Theater nel 1962. E infatti per anni si è esibito in un ruolo di interprete del padrino del soul.
Incide per la Daptone Records, etichetta specializzata nel proporre musica che si avvicina ai cliché della black music anni 60 e 70.
A parte alcuni singoli, ha pubblicato 3 dischi nel periodo 2011 – 2016 e proprio di quest’anno è il suo lavoro che ha raccolto maggiore successo. Il brano che dà il titolo anche all’album è Changes, fantastica cover di un brano dei Black Sabbath, qui proposta in chiave blues e dall’intenso impatto emotivo.
