Selezione musicale #5 Scribbletunes – Spinning Wheel
Il brano che ho selezionato oggi ha una storia piuttosto lunga alle spalle. Innanzi tutto si tratta di Spinning Wheel, una canzone del 1969 scritta e portata al successo dai Blood, Sweat & Tears. E’ un brano che mi è sempre piaciuto e di cui tempo fa cercavo una versione su YouTube. Così mi sono imbattuto nella cover proposta con sola chitarra e voce da Scribbletunes, una ragazza danese che ha del talento e che propone nel suo canale una serie di sue interpretazioni. So tra l’altro che in epoca recente ha coronato il suo sogno di realizzare un cd.
Propongo però in rapida successione altre due esecuzioni di quel brano: nella meravigliosa versione di un’interprete favolosa, Shirley Bassey in un’esibizione anni ’70, e in una altrettanto datata, ma proprio in questo ricca di fascino, di un’interprete inattesa: Barbara Eden, da noi conosciuta più che altro come attrice.
