Gli Strokes sono un gruppo rock che si è formato a New York nel 1998 e che ha pubblicato il primo disco, Is This It, nel 2001.
Il gruppo ha come frontman il cantante Julian Casablancas e si caratterizza per un suono ruvido e grintoso che richiama in parte le sonorità degli anni ’70.
Hanno pubblicato 3 dischi tra il 2001 e il 2006 per poi prendersi un periodo di riposo e tornare nel 2011 con il lavoro più recente, probabilmente decisamente inferiore ai primi.
La ruvidità della loro musica è ben rappresentata da Reptilia, singolo estratto dal secondo album, Room on Fire.
