Lo Spencer Davis Group è stato un gruppo rock inglese di Birmingham della metà degli anni ’60 caratterizzato da un sound rythm and blues con influenze della Motown.
Sebbene il nome rispecchiasse quello di uno dei membri, il chitarrista e cantante Spencer Davis, è ingenuo non ammettere che il vero elemento di spicco fosse Steve Winwood, presente nel gruppo col fratello Muff, polistrumentista che lasciò il gruppo nel 1967 per formare i Traffic prima e i Blind Faith dopo e dedicarsi quindi alla carriera solista.
Un paio d’anni dopo l’abbandono dei Winwood il gruppo si sciolse e da allora ha avuto un paio di rinascite.

Tra i loro brani di maggior successo Gimme Some Lovin’ e I’m a Man. Quest’ultimo è presente nel video durante una esibizione in una televisione scandinava.
